Meet Dorian

I’m Dorian Shaw, a former All-American and four-time conference champion softball player at the University of Michigan, where I earned my degree in Sport Management. After graduation, I spent more than 14 years coaching at George Mason University, Dartmouth University, Stanford University, Purdue University, and the University of Delaware, helping teams win multiple conference titles and mentoring dozens of All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American athletes.

In 2023, I stepped into a one-of-a-kind dual role at the University of Delaware as both an Assistant Softball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director for Student Success. During that time I helped launch NIL policy education, created the Captains and Emerging Leaders program—which earned the 2025 N4A Model Practice Award—and completed the Delaware Athletics Pathways program for aspiring sport administrators.

Today, I serve full time as Assistant Athletic Director for Talent, Culture, and Character Development at Delaware. I continue to lead the Captains and Emerging Leaders program and partner with all 22 varsity teams to strengthen culture, leadership, and performance, as well as serving as a sport administrator.

My work includes consulting and executive coaching for staff and teams in areas such as leadership development, communication, healthy competition, team dynamics, inclusivity, and peak performance.

Through my work at Ancora Performance, I bring these experiences to coaches, managers, and organizations that want to build thriving team cultures and unlock their highest potential.
